Also a Competition and quiz for members.<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>December 6th<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nNeedle felting a 3D Christmas Gnome with Fiona Nelissen. Sew Forth will be supplying the felting needles and pads to felt into, as well as merino wool and instructions. If you wish to bring along any merino wool you have not used or are not sure how to, please feel free to do so.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">November 1st<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Joe Horsburgh will be coming to demonstrate \/ talk about his hand whittled spoons and ladles that he makes with fallen wood. His wife will also come and talk to us about her animal brooches and her Fair Isle knitting.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>October 4th<br \/>\n<\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We will be wrapping beaded wires over a variety of seasonal metal outline shapes, this is a great way to use some of the beads you have been keeping for years.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">September 6th 2025<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We will be creating brooches using naturally sourced beetle wings, (alternatives are available). You will be given a pack with everything needed to make a beautiful hand stitched brooch. Your pack will include felt 3 pieces, wings with holes in, embroidery threads, brooch back and most importantly instructions. You will be using blanket stitch, and french knots ( instructions included ). Topics may cover moth infestations, and the science behind textile fibres, plus visual aids to explain the work that is undertaken. Isabella has extensive experience mounting two dimensional textiles, three dimensional objects, and costumes for major museums such as the V&amp;A Dundee and National Museums Scotland as well as smaller institutions. Past presentations have included information on the agents of deterioration, ways to safely mount textiles, and an introduction to the field textile conservation.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>April 5th<br \/>\n<\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">You will be printing your own wrapping paper, please bring a variety of vegetables, feathers, or any mark making ideas. We will be having a very interesting talk, demo etc from Marie Henderson who learnt to weave when she was a teenager and went on to a weaving school in Sweden.\u00a0 Having then taught weaving in evening classes in Sweden and latterly at the Poldrate Arts and Crafts Centre in Haddington.\u00a0 \u00a0At the weaving school she was introduced to different braiding techniques and her curiosity has taken her further in this subject.\u00a0 Marie is a member of the Braid Society and she weaves mainly fabric for dress making, and usable items, not pictures. She likes combining different techniques in her work.<\/span><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">June 1st<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\nExploring Millinery with Sarah Cudby. We will all have the opportunity to make a\u00a0 fascinator. Sarah will demonstrate the process then everyone will have a chance to design and make their own. We will be using transfer pre dyed &#8211; painted papers, these will be cut up and laid onto synthetic fabric, then the fabric goes into a heat press sandwiched between baking parchment. You can use leaves and ferns to make prints so bring anything along you may want to use. It tells the story of her family life and her incredible skills and talents. Then we will probably break for a cuppa then she will talk generally about different technical aspects of Monumental Masonery\/Lettercarving etc again with images.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">April 13th<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Speed Stitching.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Alison Cormack will explain about \u00a0the technique of speed stitching. Basically we will all start with a piece of craft vilene (previously coloured) and each person will have a few minutes (<strong style=\"color: #333333; font-style: normal; line-height: 24px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">timed) t<\/span><\/strong><\/strong>o stitch, bead, glue, destroy, enhance! or whatever, when the buzzer goes you pass your\u00a0<\/span>piece<span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0onto the next person, and it all happens all over again. At the end you will be able to take home a\u00a0<\/span>piece<span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0of\u00a0everybody&#8217;s work. \u00a0We will stop for tea though!
